I dig the Go! Team’s new record, Rolling Blackouts. What’s interesting about this one is that the best tracks are actually songs. Like one with choruses and verses and lyrics and everything. As much as I loved the group’s pump-up jams, it’s cool to see them venture into more straightforward pop terrain.
The best example of this is “Buy Nothing Day,” which features vocals from Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast. This song is pure pop rock gold.
