Two months ago, I created a Twitter account with the slightly ridiculous username @chippityhippity. Yesterday, I discovered that @chippedhip had become available, so that’s my new username. Follow me, if you’d like.
I spent the weekend checking out bands at Vancouver’s Music Waste festival. I previously wrote a whole bunch of articles about the festival: a news piece for Exclaim!, a preview of highlights for The Tyee and an interview with coordinator Sarah Cordingly for BeatRoute.
Here’s one of my personal highlights from the past few days, the Abramson Singers. The group blew me away on Thursday night at the Princeton Pub with a stripped down performance featuring singer Leah Abramson accompanied by a guitarist and a backup singer. Check out the folksy “Fool’s Gold,” a peaceful ballad that should give you a pretty good idea of what the performance sounded like.

This is beautiful, thank you.
(sorry i initially put this on another one of your posts)
I really like the singer in particular in that abramsom singers song, i dont know if you ever listen to recommendations but it kind of feels like the music of this girl i heard in LA a little while back, Sam Behymer? I dont know, i liked this song cause it kind of reminded me of her stuff so you might like her too. Her recordings are decent but her live performance was really captivating. Sorry if you dont care just thought i would throw a suggestion out there.
