if you’ve been wondering what Welsh twee rockers Los Campesinos! have been doing since releasing two albums in 2008, the title of “The Sea is a Good Place to Think of the Future” should give you a pretty good idea. It’s clear they’ve been dwelling on some pretty heavy stuff, since this half-spoken power ballad covers such topics as politics, anorexia and the death of a parent. With its sombre strings and slow-building crescendos, It’s a far cry from the over-caffeinated, glockenspiel-laden madness of their previous work.
The song appears on Romance Is Boring, which was released last week via Arts & Crafts.
